It came with a 60% charge already which was really nice. I charged it completely then I let the ENVY 13 battery completely die out three times. I heard that's a good thing to do. It seems to be working really well for me. The tape is no big deal as I used electrical tape so you can't see it and it'll come off fairly easily. I recently purchased this as a replacement for my HP ENVY 13. I was looking for spare battery for ENVY 13. Even though the product page says it is compatible, what was actually sent did not fit my laptop. They should not publish misleading information or should have an option where customer can specify what he is looking for exactly.
